Sissy Crag :

Country: Australia
State: New South Wales (NSW)
Topo: "Sydney Bouldering" guide
Season: The smaller wall faces almost due north, but is well shaded by trees, so is probably good on all but the hottest summer days (it may also be a little cool on cold winter's days). The larger wall faces north east, and is not as well shaded, so is better on summer afternoons, or winter mornings.
Although both walls are protected from the rain (the main wall in particular), the crag does tend to get damp and seep after extended periods of rain. Best to avoid it following several days rain.
Rock: Sandstone
Lat / Long: -33.7645 / 151.2015

Access:

A nice leafy bouldering crag overlooking Middle Harbour. The easiest way to get here is to drive, taking the second left after the Roseville Bridge into Ryrie Avenue, and then parking at the end of Bridgeview Crescent (the first left off Ryrie Avenue). You can also catch a "Forest Coaches" bus from Chatswood, and get off at the second stop after the Roseville Bridge (near the corner of Ryrie Avenue and Warringah Road).

Description:

Sissy Crag is one of the premier bouldering areas in Sydney. It's all overhanging (up to about 45 degrees) and features about fifty individual problems ranging from V1 to V11+. "The Sissy Crag Menu" was published in 1997, but quickly went out of print. Luckily there's both a new online bouldering guide to the crag (available at http://www.australianbouldering.com/guides/sydney/sissy/sissy_guide.html) and detailed coverage in the new "Sydney Bouldering" guide.
